Discover the world of ceramics with artist Ashley Bauman. Ashley will lead you in making wheel-based work and aid you in investigating pottery techniques such as throwing, trimming and glazing. At the end of the course, you will take home a completed piece to show off your newly acquired ceramics skills! All materials and firing included.
About the Artist
Ashley Bauman is drawn to clay for its reactive nature to touch. Watching the mesmerising patterns of spirals appear on the smooth clay canvas, continues to interest him. He finds utilitarian pottery the best method to express his ideas. Utilitarian pottery represents our rituals of celebration and he enjoys pairing these forms with glazes that mimic the natural world.
