Details
Led by visual artist Blaide Lallemand, be introduced to the work of different artists each week, trying new approaches to art making in every class. Develop skills as you enjoy a chat and a cuppa in a friendly and supportive environment.
In this 6-week term, we will focus our attention on 3 contemporary painters. Spending two weeks on each artist, the first week will be a deep drive into their practice and the second week will be utilising their approach when making an original artwork.
The artsist’s are Jenny Saville, Melanie Waugh and Oliver Hilton. These artists have been carefully chosen for the curious artist who may not have many years experience in painting. These classes have been designed to easily identify their unique practice paying attention to the use of block colour, form, stylisation and composition.
About the Artist
Blaide Lallemand takes an interdisciplinary approach to making works of art, fusing her interest in sculptural practices with a range of ephemeral practices including performance, new media and site-specific installation. Blaide is interested in immersing the audience into the artwork, enabling them to have a visceral experience and choice to actively participate with the realisation and evolution of the artwork.
Blaide studied acting at the University of Western Sydney before graduating from the ANU School of Art with first class Honours in 2003. She is interested in exploring cycles in nature, rhythms of the body and aspects of intimate social and physical relationships between people and their complex means of communication.
