About the Artist
Michele England’s artwork is concerned with various topical issues, particularly those dealing with contemporary consumer lifestyles and impacts on the environment. She aims to make works that engage the viewer’s eyes, body and mind.
Mostly working in painting, she often creates small wall based sculpture. She often uses a collage aesthetic to combine imagery, painting techniques, pattern and forms. She also combines the practices of art and craft with found objects to change them and to alter their context and meaning.
She completed a Visual Arts Degree with Honours in 2013 and an MA Phil in Visual Art in 2022 at the School of Art ANU. She has had numerous solo and group shows in Canberra and interstate and her work is held in private collections across Australia.
