This exhibition explores the artist’s ongoing relationship with nature through plant-dyed and stitched textiles, mark-making, and works on paper. Drawing inspiration from the concept of terraphilia—a term combining terra (earth) and philia (love/friendship)—this new body of work reflects Ryder’s deep connection to the natural world and her encounters with its more-than-human inhabitants. Terraphilia moves beyond ideas of land ownership, instead centring connection through observation, exploration, and creative response.
