Details

Tuggeranong Arts Centre’s Make a Mini Musical school holiday program with Mr. Tim and Ms. Nat is giving kids the unique opportunity to co-create and perform an original musical in only 5 days. Running in the upcoming school holidays, participants devise the story, write the script and lyrics, co-write the music, choreograph stage movement, and make props and backdrops for a public performance on the final day.

Providing a platform for young people to express their concerns and find solutions, the musical’s theme comes from the children and is made in response to real-life challenges and as well as learning the various aspects involved in creating a musical, the children learn how to collaborate and work in teams. But the driving force behind the ongoing success of the program, is its capacity to give children a voice, something the program Directors Tim and Nat are passionate about.

This engaging, high-energy program for students aged 8-13 years, is running at Tuggeranong Arts Centre from Monday 6 – Friday 10 July. Spaces are limited to 25 students. No experience is required – just an attitude to participate in the creation and development of the musical.

Notes

The musical will be performed at the end of the final day (10 July) and the expected finish time is around 4pm. Final details will come out during the week.
