Details

Peter McLean and Sharon Peoples were artists in residence at the Old School in Mount Wilson; Peter in 2024 and Sharon in 2023. Responding to Mt Wilson in embroidery, prints and drawings, these two artists, an embroiderer and a printmaker, set out to be immersed in, and record, the same lush environment. They have independently done so, while perceiving and hinting at the unseen hand of a spirit-like figure; The Gardener.

About the Artists

Established Canberra based artists, Dr Sharon Peoples has a PhD in Art History and is known for her hand and machine embroidery, while Peter McLean, a printmaker, works across print techniques, drawing and installation. They share an interest in nature, the environment and gardening.
