Details

A collaborative art exhibition by Megan Daley (Ngunnawal/Wiradjuri) and Rechelle Turner (Wiradjuri) that delves into their deep-rooted connection to Country and the timeless stories it holds. The exhibition is a continuation of their artistic partnership and the vision behind their emerging fashion label, Corella & Crow, which celebrates the resilience and beauty of Ngunnawal and Wiradjuri cultures. Through textiles, storytelling, and visual art, From Country invites audiences to experience the layers of heritage, identity, and belonging that inspire Megan and Rechelle’s creative journey, honouring the landscapes, wisdom, and spirit of country that shape and sustain their work.

About the Artists

Rechelle Turner is a contemporary Wiradyuri artist living on Ngunnawal Country.  In 2020 she began a Graduate Certificate in Wiradjuri Language Culture and History to reconnect with her culture in an incredible and life-changing journey. As an artist and Wiradyuri nation builder, she says it is her responsibility to help to strengthen Wiradyuri language and cultural practices in our people and to ensure the continual passing on of cultural knowledge.

Megan Daley is a Ngunnawal/Wiradjuri artist. She spent her childhood in Wiradjuri country in Wellington, NSW, before moving to Canberra in 1999 and her art reflects the two environments, she calls home. Interested in art since childhood, Megan began experimenting with painting in late 2016 as a method of creativity and self-care. She has continued to grow her passion into other artistic mediums. When Megan isn’t painting, she is passionate about Aboriginal social and emotional wellbeing and early childhood development and is currently completing her master’s in social work.
