Try a free class and give the kids a taste of TAC’s term-based classes
- Introduce young ones to Street Funk fun in a Fresh Funk class and snap up the chance to let them explore this popular, energetic style of dancing while learning a dance routine with program tutors.
- A series of playful aged-based art classes with Gina Chapman, will have kids painting their own underwater world full of wacky crazy creatures you hope to never meet in the Tuggeranong Lake or under the sea!
- Give Funky Fairytales a try and find out if your young one was born to be on the stage, in a free drama class with Daniel Streatfield. Kids will have fun playing drama theatre sports and other improvisation and role-playing games.
Facilitated by local artists, the drop-in art activities include puppet making, building robots, creating zines, and making Fish Stix
- Little hands will be kept busy in Puppet Power, with artists Eleanor & Giovanni. Come and make a puppet using yarn, bits of leftover fabric and joggle eyes.
- Young imagination will take flight in Tom Buckland’s Robot Creations. Drop-into and help or just watch, as ordinary cardboard is magically transformed into marvelous robots to play with or take home.
- Take an A4 page, add a fold here, a cut and a crease, bring it together and Ta-Da… you’ve made a Zine! Add a few words and images to create your own mini book.!! (instructions are included).
- A fast and fun activity for all ages, Fish Stix is an opportunity to make a characterful fish with some sticks and left-over knitting yarn. Take your fish home or leave it to brighten up TAC’s outdoor space.
Upstairs at TAC
- In The Space, Yuma Yarn artists Rechelle & Belle will teach you First Nations weaving and sing for you while you work.
- The singing continues in the afternoon around the piano with the wonderful Leisa Keen.
- Teens can head into the theatre and see their peers perform in eight professionally produced music videos showcasing the 2024 Battle of the Bands finalists.
By the Lake
- The outdoor Lakeside stage will come to life with performances by local artists and community groups including Belle Whyte, Gugan Gulwan music students, Fresh Funk, Belly Up, Tuggeranong Valley Band, and Sing with Toby.
- Lakeside Sketching invites relaxation, fresh air and stunning views. Whether you focus on a tree, the lake’s edge or clouds in the sky with smudgy, streaky, swirly, or scratchy marks; make them your own and capture a memory.
