Details

Close to the bushland and riverine environments, with a spectacular mountain skyline, urban parks and wetland areas, the Tuggeranong and South Canberra region is a great place to live and to visit. The Wish You Were Here Exhibition is an opportunity to be part of an community project that explores and celebrates the local area and its people.

The callout is open to anyone, regardless of age or experience, who would like to create a small postcard sized artwork, wall-mounted artwork, in any medium or technique, to be displayed at Tuggeranong Arts Centre.

Artwork must be:

  • Approximatley A6 size (10.5 x 15cm)
  • Landscape or portrait format
  • Oversized artworks may be excluded at curators disgression.
  • Works deemed to be offensive or not in keeping with TAC’s values may also be excluded.

We invite you to share a story though your work: what inspires you; what connections tie you to this community; how do you remember or imagine this place. Do you have a favourite spot? The cafe where you enjoy the sun and a morning beverage with neighbours; the place you come to unwind and relax? Do you share those moments with loved ones, a pet or simply commune with the cheeky birds and shy animals that share our environment.

Is it the crisp morning light and the promise of the new day; the still evening, contemplating the day’s events over a meal with friends, or a favourite weekend spot for picnics in the shade; hot afternoons splashing in the river or throwing sticks and walking with the dog.

Send us a “Wish you were Here” to share what you love about Canberra’s south.
