Draw a view of the lake, or a traditional still life in this one-off class with artist Barak Zelig. Suitable for beginners and for those who are interested in developing their drawing skills, the emphasis will be on improving your capacity to see proportions and shapes and to translate them onto paper using your choice of pencil, charcoal or artists crayons. Materials will be supplied.

About the Artist

Barak Zelig is a surrealist artist working in metamorphosis, using raw materials and found objects to create ready-made small sculptures, and large sculptures from steel. Barak is interested in hybrids and the creation of a new being or item made by the amalgamation of different elements. The comments which he makes in his works are political and social and are often characterised by satire. Barak is also a skilled printmaker, designer and an experienced art tutor. Barak holds a BA in printmaking and graphics investigation (Canberra Institute of Art, Australian National University) and Postgraduate Diploma in design and animation (University of Technology, Sydney). His work can be found in many corporate and private collections and they have been selected for inclusion as a finalist in several sculpture exhibitions including the Yarra Valley Arts, Yerring Station Melbourne, ‘Hidden’ Rookwood Cemetery Sydney, Sculpture on the Edge Bermagui, Sculpture in the Paddock Yass.
