Dust off those brushes and treat yourself to a 6-week short course in painting still life.
Develop artworks using acrylic paints with artist Yamile Tafur Rios. Explore methods of application, paint mixing and use of colour, and investigate how different surfaces respond to paint. Yamile will guide you through a journey of observing and developing still life compositions, and help you reflect on how your images communicate personal meaning.

Creator of the one human comedy cabaret Tinderella

Creator of the one human comedy cabaret Tinderella and the eight unique uses of Tinder is the highly creative and versatile Alyce Fisher,

A country girl at heart who grew up a Pony-club-prize-winner, cow-pat-frisbee-slinger, Alyce is known for getting herself into some interesting situations. A graduate of the Swinburne TAFE Theatre Arts Diploma 2007, Alyce went onto start her own company Theatre On Toast, touring the regions performing theatre & education originals and being a fairy/clown/magician at far too many kids’ parties. Quick-witted and reliably rambunctious, Alyce’s, personal creative focus is on sharing stories and making the people laugh, through the development of solo performance work, stand-up comedy, BINGO calling and MC duties.
Presently based in Albury-Wodonga, she premiered her first solo work in 2022 ‘Tinderella & the eight unique uses of Tinder’ at The Cube Wodonga and created the character of ‘Aurora’ for Rachel McNamara’s epic immersive experience ‘A Land of Snow & Ice’ in 2022/23. Alyce’s varied skill set, and engaging stage presence whips creative endeavours into shape and is guaranteed to leave everyone laughing.

Alyce is performing Tinderella at Tuggeranong Arts Centre on Friday 14 February, don’t miss out on this Valentines day cabaret spectacular.

Each Term TAC runs a series of artist led short co

Each Term TAC runs a series of artist led short courses that allow participants to explore a medium over 6 weeks. These courses are a great opportunity to explore something new, expand existing skills or dedicate some time to your creative practice. With all materials provided, there really is no excuse not to sign up!
In Term 1, Yamille Tafur Rios is offering Still Life Painting in acrylic paints, Peter McLean will teach you how to play with printmaking, teaching styles you can replicate at home and Ashley Bauman will take you through wheel-based pottery. In Term 2, Gina Chapman will take you through botanical watercolours, John Pratt takes you through using mark making in printmaking and Steven Holland’s class explores anatomic drawing of the human body.
Classes run for 6-weeks

Do you love to sing? Would you love to sing with others?
Sing with Toby is a community choir run at Tuggeranong Arts Centre in partnership with ANU Community Music Centre. This choir now has over 30 members that meet each week to rehearse and perform.
Opera singer and choir conductor extraordinaire, Tobias Cole leads the choir; taking singers on a magical journey, incorporating a variety of public performances and other opportunities.
Term-based weekly rehearsals are held at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre from 5:30pm – 7:00pm on a Tuesday. The choir is free, and anyone aged 18 and over is welcome to sign up. Participants are welcome to come and try a session before committing to stay for the term or ongoingly.

With an emphasis on painting and drawing, you will also get the opportunity to explore other mediums such as ceramics, printmaking and collage. The 10 week course allows you to learn, experiment and expand your skills, no previous experience required! Come along, grab a cuppa and create.

Calling all creative kids! TAC’s popular term-based art classes for ages 6-12 are enrolling now for Term 1.

Split into two age groups, Make a Mess (6-8 years) is about experimentation and play. Learn about mark making, colour theory and explore 2D and 3D mediums. Make it Matter (9-12 years) teaches students about historical and contemporary artists while they create their own artistic interpretation.
Both classes are run by a professional artist who fosters a fun and inclusive environment allowing the kids to make art and meet new friends. All Materials included.

Make a Mess: Wednesdays 3:30-4:30pm and Thursdays 4-5pm
Make it Matter: Wednesdays and Fridays 5-6pm

Tinderella and the Eight Unique Uses of Tinder is a one human comedy cabaret, created and performed by Alyce Fisher. The show explores real life tales of her very own Tinder escapades, investigates contemporary app dating culture and aims to empower everyone to take control of their own app dating experience. Strongly influenced by Disney characters, featuring a bespoke mockumentary film, a magic wand and audience interaction/participation. Tinderella is a rollicking good time, super funny and has a whole lot of heart.

Tinderella is for comedy and cabaret lovers, anyone who has experienced the highs and the lows of the dating apps and those who are curious as to how it all works.

Make art at TAC with term-based classes for Primary aged kids and seniors, 6-week short courses covering painting, printmaking or ceramics, or join the monthly life drawing workshop Every Body.
Fresh Funk offers dance classes for toddlers and beyond, they really do cater for all age groups. MARION hosts a monthly writer’s group on the third Saturday of the month, its free to attend.
Join the community choir Sing with Toby who rehearse on Tuesday evenings during term time. For those in Woden, the migrant women’s art group Chat and Make Art meet on a Friday morning and Art Play for the curious adult offers casual classes as well as an option to sign up for the 6-week block.
For the Artist out there, put in an EOI for activating a site in Woden, put in a submission for the 2026 exhibition program, pitch your ideas at Creative Kitchen or send in a postcard for the community exhibition Wish You Were Here. Lakeside at 5 returns on the 4th Friday of the month with free live Jazz and beautiful lake views. Canberra favourites, Two Blonds and a Bloke, kick it off on February 28. Make your Valentines Day a little different this year with Tinderella and the Eight Unique Uses of Tinder, a one-woman cabaret written and performed by Alyce Fisher. Jazz Haus Canberra gives us a stellar line up of jazz greats: Sax Koto, Joe Chindamo and The Steve Hunter Band. Jeremy Goldstein brings his award winning Truth To Power Café to Canberra, a profound theatrical reflection on loss, hope, and resistance. Be served dinner with a song in Comfort Food Cabaret, the creation of the singing cook Michelle Pearson. For classical lovers, Canberra Symphony Orchestra’s chamber orchestra series is back with Water and Wild and Saturday Salon presents Ben Hoadley playing the Basoon. Finally, if you need a laugh, Chris Ryan brings in a hilarious line up of comedians for Club Sandwich.

The three gallery spaces at TAC are hosting an exciting program of exhibitions this year. Opening in February is moonsnake by Steven Holland, Unconditional by John Brooks and This is Studio&, the first exhibition from the Studio& collective. The 2023 Lanyon prize winner Lynne Flemons opens Meander in April with a joint exhibition by Canberra artists Peter McLean and Sharon Peoples, and Networks Australia’s exploration of digital technology and textile arts. In June, True: Kevin Gilbert 1933-1993 showcases works from the artist and activist. Rechelle Turner and Megan Daley return with a continuation of their artistic partnership. And Wish You Were Here, a collection of community submitted postcards reflecting on the Tuggeranong Valley and its surrounds.
