About the Band

The United States Air Force Band of the Pacific leverages the power of music to strengthen bonds and share the culture of the United States. Connecting with diverse audiences throughout the region, the Band’s impressive performances create engaging moments that serve as a demonstration of and pay homage to the excellence displayed every day by the 46,000 Airmen serving, stationed and deployed throughout the Indo-Pacific area. .

Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii has a held a long history as home to the United States Air Force Band of the Pacific.. It was more than thirty years ago when Hickam was home to the 501st Air Force Band. That 35-piece unit performed for base and community functions from 1947-1975. During the draw down following the Vietnam War, the band was deactivated until the current 15-piece USAF Band of the Pacific, Hawaii was born in 1995.

Performing in a wide variety of settings throughout the Hawaiian island chain and the Indo-Pacific region, they are made up of three smaller ensembles: Small Kine – a six-member popular music ensemble, Papana – a nine-member jazz ensemble, and Hana Hou!
